A.J. MOORE HIGH GOSPEL FUNDRAISER AT THE HIPPODROME

“Spirit of Love Gospel Concert & Dinner”

On May 19, 2017, the A. J. Moore High Alumni Association will host the “Spirit of Love Gospel Concert & Dinner” as its first charitable fundraiser since becoming a 501c3. This is a collaboration with Waco’s Hippodrome Theater and other local entities.

Tickets are $45.00 and include dinner with the concert. The event is scheduled from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm and will feature mainly local artists including several alumni of A. J. Moore High.

In addition, we were able to book Bob Darden of Baylor University who is renowned for his research on gospel music and gospel artist. Mr. Darden’s digitalized collection of gospel music is featured as part of the historical collections in the new Smithsonian African American Museum in Washington, D. C. The Hippodrome will host a book-signing for Bob Darden from 5:00 –6:00 pm before the “Spirit of Love Gospel Concert & Dinner” begins.

We encourage everyone to please support our first fundraiser as it will help determine future collaborations with the Hippodrome and other entities that are part of our designated Cultural Arts District in Waco as well as increase our ability to give back.

As always, we welcome any suggestions you have for future fundraisers. Proceeds from A. J. Moore High fundraisers contribute to scholarship funds, civic engagement, capital development, operational expenses, and other alumni activities.
